Revelation

Revelation (manifestation) – Greek “apokalupsis” – an uncovering; to uncover or unveil; to make known what before was unknown (as something hidden or secret)

Kevin Conner defines revelation from a theological point of view as “God unveiling Himself to man, and communicating truth to the mind of man which he could not discover in any other way. It is imparted truth which could not be discovered by natural reasoning alone.”

Matt 11:27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him

Luke 2:26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

Gal 1:11-12 But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Cor 2:9-10 "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

Matt 16:17 Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

• Revelation comes from the Holy Spirit (we need the BAPTISM!)
• Never FORCE revelation (SEE Ez 44:17-18)
• NEVER try to force the Word to say anything.
• Sometimes, we have to close a subject for a while, and ask, then WAIT, upon the Lord to bring us revelation.

Revelation is actually one of the 7 Spirits of God

Isa 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,

Eph 1:17-18 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened;

Necessity of Revelation

Prov 29:18 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint;

1 Sam 3:1 Then the boy Samuel ministered to the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation.

Amos 8:11-12 "Behold, the days are coming," says the Lord GOD, "That I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD. 12 They shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east; they shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, but shall not find it.

We are held responsible with what we do with revelation

Acts 26:16 But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you

1 Cor 4:1-2 Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2 Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.

He makes known to us mysteries

Eph 3:3-6 how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, 4 by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), 5 which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets:

Dan 2:22 He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.

Deut 29:29 The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

God will reveal to us all things if we are listening

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.

But some of those things we must not reveal until the proper time (like the Mount of Transfiguration – Matt 17:9)

Hab 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.

We must remember this as intercessors when we are praying for people and God reveals to us personal parts of their lives

Jesus reveals (unveils, manifests) HIMSELF to us:

In part:
John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."

But some day completely:
1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is

At that time, the GLORY of God will also be revealed in us:
1 Peter 5:1 The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed:

Rom 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.

Great Revelation saved for the last days

Dan 12:4 "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."

1 Peter 1:5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Isa 40:5 The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken."

WE MUST KNOW what God is speaking today!

2 Peter 1:12 For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth.
