Ardent Hearts is an international worship ministry that carries a prophetic and apostolic anointing, founded in Jacksonville, Florida by Mark Shubert in 1998. Today, it has two ministry bases, the second being located in Brazil, in the city of Campinas, São Paulo. Ardent Hearts emphasizes a hunger for intimacy with Jesus and strives to take the people of God into His presence through powerful praise and worship. The anointing upon the ministry has attracted especially youth, who find in this worship the key to a deep and real relationship with Jesus.
The ministry is
currently doing worship conferences in different cities of Brazil, teaching
the Word of God through the Bible College in Campinas, and doing evangelism
and social assistance in “favelas” (ghettos). It is our goal to
plant a series of churches with extravagant worship to gather the fruits of
these evangelisms, establish an orphanage, a recording studio, a publishing
house, and production of a television program for youth.
1 – Ardent Hearts Worship Conferences
The ministry coordinates worship and revival conferences throughout Brazil. These may last from three to seven days in each city. We have a team of musicians to lead worship, so that the musicians and leaders from the local community have an opportunity to participate in the meetings and receive ministry. The focus in these meetings is threefold: 1.) Revive the flame of passion for God in His people; 2) Stimulate the church to prepare for the great harvest that is about to come; and 3) Invite the lost of the neighborhood to experience first-hand the presence of God through dynamic praise and worship, together with the teaching of the Word of God and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
2 – Ardent Hearts Institute
Ardent Hearts Ministries offers a Bible College in Campinas, the purpose of which is to train believers in the Word of God, teaching them to interpret the revelation of the “mystery” in the Scriptures. We want to form a “literate” generation to work in the end-time harvest. The Bible College is available in three different programs:
1) Evening Program with classes twice a week – ideal for those living close to Campinas ho work or study, but still desire to learn more from the Word of God
2) Full Time Program which is an intensive training for nine months with evening classes twice a week and some morning classes – students will be living at the ministry base, having daily activities such as studies, devotionals, evangelism and practical work.
3) Correspondence Program – the following courses are available in Cds & syllables: Foundations of Doctrine, Spiritual Authority, Principles of Praise & Worship, Tabernacle of Moses, and Song of Songs (Portuguese only).

3– Radical Evangelism in Favelas (ghettos)
“Favela”
– a complex of small houses crudely built where people with an extremely
low income live.
According to the chart of “favelas” released by the government of
the city of São Paulo in February of 2003, the number of “favelas”
increased 30% in the last decade. São Paulo has more “favelas”
than any other city in Brazil, with a total of 2,018.
Many natives of Sao Paulo live in these "favelas” or shanty-towns.
Hundreds of thousands of people live in these immense areas sprawling over the
hills of the city. Each of them takes what they can get: boards, cardboard,
tin, whatever, and makes a little shack. No one really owns any land (which
makes it tough to plant a church). The city supplies a water tap and one light
pole with electricity free of charge, as anyone who tried to get in to collect
an electric bill or any policeman that tried to enter would quickly be assaulted.
Each “favela” is controlled by a drug lord, and drug trafficking
is how these “favelas” make their livelihood. When the new shipment
comes in, they shoot off fireworks as a signal for all of the children and workers
to come and get their supply with which they will hit the streets to try to
make some money. Statistics say that in the city of São Paulo alone,
there are over 700,000 homeless street children.
Ardent Hearts Ministry
has a program of Radical Evangelism in “favelas” in Atibaia. A sound
truck equipped with 30,000 watts of sound, motorcycle acrobatic show, hip-hop
and worship bands, distribution of food baskets and a complete prepared meal,
dental e nursing assistance, haircuts, nutrition consultations, praise and worship,
puppets and Bible stories for children are the tools used to reach the physical
and spiritual needs of the population of the “favela”.
The goal of the ministry is to reach one million souls for Jesus, before He
returns, and
according to the Word of the Lord, the majority of these souls will come from
favelas. The strategy is to take back those lives stolen by the enemy, begin
to identify the immerging leaders, pour into them, lay hands on them, teach
them, and disciple them. Some will receive scholarships to study at Ardent Hearts
Institute, where they will be trained and then sent out to return to the favelas,
establishing a network of home churches within the literal “battle zones”
of the city.
4 – Children’s Home
The ministry, through this orphanage, has a goal of housing street children and other children in need, helping them by teaching them the ways of the Lord as well as stimulating their scholastic and artistic talents. In this manner, we believe that we are “redeeming a generation” – taking those whom society has literally “thrown away,” and creating an army of radical workers for the Kingdom of God.
5 – Recording Studio and Publishing House
Ardent Hearts has a vision to publish worship CDs and Christian literature that edify the Body of Christ. We also want to offer others in the Brazilian church a means to release their giftings in these areas.
6 – Youth Television Program
The ministry plans to offer a television program for youth, a program with music, messages, and challenges that really meets the needs, expectations, and yearnings of the younger generation. Our goal is to serve both believers and non-believers, showing them that to serve Jesus is nothing monotonous or dead, but instead, a life filled with joy! We want to be able to give a biblical response to their doubts about walking with Jesus and bring them closer to our Beloved, making their hearts burn with love for Him alone.
